Returning Flow at Tanjung Priok Port Increasing

Returning flow in Penumpang Nusantara Terminal, Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, is increasing up to 20 percent this year. It happens because of expensive prices on airplane ticket and traffic congestion that plagued at Pantura lanes.

Head of Penumpang Nusantara Terminal, Syawaludin disclosed until 8 days after Eid ul Fitr, as many as 30,000 passengers have arrived in the port. Last year, its number was only 22,000-26,000.

"Probably, passenger surge in terminal is caused by expensive prices on airplane ticket and congestion at Panutra lanes," he stated, Tuesday (8/5).

Returning Flow in Rawamangun Terminal Quiet

He explained those passengers are mostly from Makassar, Ambon, Sorong, Medan, Batam, Surabaya, Tegal and Semarang. Besides using regular boat, Tanjung Priok port also provides three boats for free homecoming, such as Ceremai, Republik Indonesia Makasar and Niki Sae. They sailed from Tanjung Mas Port, Semarang, Central Java.

"We prepare 11 boats during homecoming season, including 3 free boats," he told.

For this year, the Tanjung Priok Port managed to depart 22,000 people, and its number is declining compared to last year, which was 23,000 people.
